GamesAid is the charitable arm of the UK video Games Industry. Each year GamesAid raise thousands of pounds, which they use to support smaller charities who help vulnerable children and young people in the UK.
Last year MAPS received a staggering £70,500 from GamesAid to help support our work with children and young people that have complex and challenging life circumstances.
In less than 5 minutes you can change the life of a young person in need by voting MAPS to receive support from GameAid.
MAPS support some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people in the borough, often who have multiple and complex needs or have experienced difficulties across various facets of their lives. Difficulties that include low self-esteem, family breakdown, abuse, loss and bereavement, having poor mental health, self-harm, thoughts of suicide, being a young carer, or who are struggling within school, or are experiencing bullying. This list is not exhaustive; MAPS strive to support any young person in need.
Thanks to GamesAid, MAPS can continue its mission to provide children and young people in need with a volunteer mentor, who meets with them each week, every week for a year, providing them with a safe space to unpack life, a listening ear, and a positive environment in which they can simply be a kid.
All you need to do is register to become a GamesAid member if you’re not already (it’s completely free to join). You will then receive an e-mail polling card, listing all of the charities that nominated, please vote MAPS and change a life of a young person in need.
Voting is open 15th August – 05th September 2016. Please register and vote today!
